1914-18 – Romania was ruled by a Royal family with Austro
German connections. Romania remained neutral in August 1914. PM Ion Bratianu.
In Dec 1915 Bertie Maw had been in the Romanian oil business before the war.
After Romania entered the war on the Allied side in August 1916. In 1918 a Canadian

August 1944 – King Michael of Romania carried out a coup
against the reigning Fascist government and had begun negotiations with the
Soviet Union to take Romania out of the war. Michael ordered all Germans out of

14 Jan 1945 – Bucharest Romania 80,000 people were taken
away to their deaths. Frank Wisner was head of the OSS mission in Bucharest.
The cold war between the Soviet Union and US began that day? Imposing Soviet
Communism on eastern Europe by force. The US had a new enemy. Russia
consolidated their control over eastern Europe. The same training that had
taken the Jews to their slaughter was now being used by the Soviet Union to
transport people by the hundreds of thousands to KGB execution cellars or slave

March 1945 – Communist Russia took over Romania and the
government fled into exile. Into a network of prisons were dragged thousands of
Romanians 282,000 Romanians were seized and deported to Siberia, more than
190,000 of then would die in slave camps. In September 1945 the OSS mission was

1946-47 – Romania 1946 a Soviet plot to assassinate the
King. The Soviets wanted to eliminate the Soviet Colonel. His car was

Mid 1960s – Saudi Arabia’s Yamani did a barter deal with
Romania trading oil for goods. Saudi Arabia marketing oil with the Communist

1968 – Autumn the CIA recruited colonel Ion Iacobescu,
deputy head of the Paris station of the Romanian foreign intel service DGIE.

1980s – Joseph Rothschild. Romanian gypsies were the
poorest. Tortures are cruel, gypsy women were sexually enslaved in harems.
